Data mining — data collection, processing and analysis for business insights

What is data mining?

Data mining: Extracting knowledge from raw data Data mining is the automatic discovery of useful information from large datasets — whether in databases, on the web or in files. It includes data collection, cleaning, analysis and finding hidden patterns, trends and connections that support better decisions. The result is not just reports, but concrete insights for marketing, pricing, inventory or competition analysis.

Real-world example: Collecting information about products in a given category (e.g. phones or electronics) from multiple websites: names, prices, specifications, availability. Using this data you can track competitor prices, compare product ranges, automatically update your own catalogue or generate reports to support purchasing and sales decisions.

Technologies & approaches

We primarily use NodeJS + Puppeteer for web scraping and browser automation — fast, reliable and adaptable to dynamic content. We also build Chrome extensions for scraping where that is the optimal approach. For data analysis, machine learning and large dataset processing we use Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn), vector databases and AI model integration.
